SCR got off with slap on the wrist for a real PEd, Bolt was protected (but perhaps was also warned to de-escalate with his infamous false start DQ at worlds after the Olympics) .

Outrage fatigue. People can only get pissed off about so much before it all becomes quite meh. With the US elections, Trump on trial, Israel v. Gaza, Ukraine v. Russia, inflation, unaffordable housing, trans this, gay that, etc., no one has the bandwidth to get upset about Chinese swimmers.

It would be reasonable to ban all Chinese athletes from the Paris Olympics. The Chinese Anti-Doping Agency is corrupt to the core. Unfortunately, WADA is as well.

The claim is that the contamination occurred at a kitchen at their hotel, accounting for 23 cases. I'd think that the coaches would have tested positive too then, as well as guests. They also claimed that the quantities involved were minuscule. No, they were clearly systematically doped. The story about WADA's approach really has shades of the UN's approach to the origins of COVID in these remarks:
