Why are they heavily ridiculed and discriminated against online when they have the best of both worlds? (strength + cardio) They literally have the most balanced physiques.

Have you met them?
I don't see most CrossFit people ridiculed. Some that have terrible form and think more weight is important instead of proper form are given the side eye but I don't think they are ridiculed in general.
Very sexy

Andre Jin- you don’t have to justify your sexual preferences to us.
Enjoy those manly CrossFit men!
They're not really ridiculed, but at the same time they're not excellent at anything.
They are mediocre rowers, mediocre cyclists, bad runners, weak powerlifters, above average at calisthenics, bad at endurance (picture a group of crossfitters on a military recon mission with limited food and heavy load).
They can pull a decent wattage for 2-3 minutes on several types of ERGs, but that's about it.
They are ridiculous. And deserve to be mocked
If I have to guess, I'd say that they are ridiculed because they are ridicolous.
They skipped neck day
Nice cope, bro.
The guy on the right ran a 17:17 5k and and a 79 minute half marathon. Both while carrying all that muscle.
And everyone in this picture has served in the military. The one on the right has even served in the special forces for 11+ years.
Why am I being downvoted for this? Can you guys not handle an old, muscled man running faster than you?
You can see for yourself:

You should check out the work of that great artist known as Tom of Finland. It'll be perfect for your apartment.
So much hotter than distance runners.
I was a member at a “box”
The jarhead thing is annoying. Yes, we know you’re willing to shoot people to make rich capitalists even richer. Your flags and tribute workouts are trite.
Overall watching them run is like watching an armless person swim.
The vast majority of them are as dumb as a doorknob. Better to have a thoughtful conversation with an actual doorknob.
Are these guys in S. Korea? Most of letsrun isn't from there and the crossfit may be different there. Maybe CrossFit is lauded on S. Korea. Maybe they care about form and don't injure everyone in S. Korea. Not a perfect example to start the discussion with.
Most of the criticism I've seen is aimed at 'kipping' and not doing exercises properly - mainly the idea of doing as many of the exercise as possible in a time frame instead of focussing on form. So a lot of injuries.
I'm sure it's fine if done properly.
In the 1990s these individuals would have owned (and used) rollerblades.
That is why they are rightly ridiculed.
In theory, I think crossfit is a fantastic idea. There's a few big issues with it all though:
1) It's a sport owned by one corporate entity. You could potentially buy all of crossfit if you wanted. There's plenty of criticism of track, and we all have a lot to say about the NCAA or WA, or other sports for that matter. But no one can just "buy" track and field. No one "owns" track and field. Crossfit is a business, first and foremost.
2) They call themselves the fittest athletes on earth, and I disagree. Decathletes are 10x better overall athletes. Crossfitters are often pretty strong, some are really good at Olympic weightlifting and have had successful weightlifting careers before/after crossfit. Their aerobic endurance is often meh. Their agility is often extremely meh. Things like jumping, throwing, hurdling, etc. are a billion times more impressive than, idk, doing squats with a weighted vest and then running a 6:00 mile or whatever they do. Oh and speed. I have yet to see one "elite" crossfitter who is remotely speedy. I have immense respect for guys like throwers and heavyweight olympic lifters. I watched a 350lb thrower on my college team run a 29s 200m for fun. Watching crossfitters sprint is embarrassing, and I don't know how you can call yourself the greatest athlete if you can't run even kind of fast.
3) The culture is dumb. I have done similar "crosstraining" classes and it's good fun and I like that type of exercise. Can I do it at a gym that doesn't have a thin blue line flag, a marines flag, an army flag, a thin red line (???) flag, and a Gadsden flag? It's like the inverse of a Mensa convention in there.
4) You think doping is bad in track? Check out crossfit.
I think they are ridiculed for various reasons (depending on the person ridiculing): jealousy, homophobia, exercise snobbery, form Puritanism, or the fact that elite powerlifters are stronger, elite runners are faster, elite rowers are faster.
Not much respect is given to balance, which is why runners, swimmers, and cyclists hate on triathletes.
