Elle st Pierre is amazing but Tsegay on apparently on her period in Glasgow. Let’s see if she does anything this summer. I hope she does, the US is long over due for a medal in distance running. I hope she does the 5k
Not 3:45, but 3:48 will come soon from one of these wonderful hard training Ethiopian women or maybe Kipyegon (but I don't think she will further improve).
What's your favorite women's distance runner right now? I really like Tsegay.
And here I was thinking Kipyegon was in a league of her own. Anyone think she withdrew because she knows she's not in 3:50 shape? Tsegay ran like 14:00 too last year right? I think (hope and pray) that the first time a woman breaks 14, 2 women will break 14. We might see 2 women break 3:50 for the first time this season too.

What makes this extra exciting is that the season has hardly even begun. Tsegay has time left for at least 3 WR attempts this season. I expect two more before the olympics and another after! I don't know why Kipyegon withdrew, but I think it's more likely that a mid April meet is insignificant and was inconvenient for any number of minor reasons.
People on here live in denial. Which is fine to a point. But when you have an endemic doping culture that national authorities turn a blind eye to, it is no longer a sport, but a farce. Think Kenya before AIU finally kicked in. It becomes on the pro level Doping vs. less blatant doping, which is not even competitive.

Why does ethiopia get away with it so blatantly though?
How many "most obvious dopers" are there - 10? 50?
I just watch these meets for enjoyment as a Track and Field Fan, there is no way any of us can definitively know who is on PEDs and who is not. If they all are on them or over 90% are on them..... then it is an even playing field. Just enjoy watching the competition because unless the governing bodies institute a lifetime ban for PEDs use, NOTHING will change. End of story
