Having no idea of the speed of the track and what type of shape he is in right now, just for funs, I will put out a guestimate: 1:44.00 — go Marco.
Assuming he wants to be in shape-ish now and cruising well for trials in Montreal, I would suggest not at peak. Your guess is pretty good too. Trouble for many with peaking in early summer, then late summer is the decision to hold a peak or have two peaks. But when you are the uber talented Marco Arop, you only need to peak once: Paris where he may run 1:42.80 to improve on his own PB national record 1:42.85.
He probably only goes back to visit Edmonton for a couple day a year because he's a nice guy.
I’m gonna say 1:43.6 for the win. He was in monster shape in February when he soloed a 2:14 K at NBIGP, and 3 weeks ago he ran on a 3:03 4x4 at the Florida Relays. Plus, 3 of the Kenyans in the race have already run 1:44 this year, and they’re not gonna wait for Arop to round into form.
This looks on point. Kinyamal is likely to push the pace if Arop doesn’t. The other two Kenyans are kickers who’d be happy to go through in 51-mid-52low, but all it takes is one guy going with the pacer. The conditions look good for the 800 so I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s anything from 1:43.1-1:44.2 (if the pacer is ignored/bad). The Kip Keino 800 should be excellent as well.
