There have been a couple of promising East African cyclists recently, but that is likely due to professional teams scouting East Africa - i.e. self-fulfilling. Imagine if East African soccer players could run around the pitch significantly more than other ethnicities without getting tired. But they can't.

Cycling takes much more resources and training and actually makes Africans lose the mechanical advantage that they have. Also the gene is called Actn 3 which 99% of Nigerians have…. The kicker is that 99% and 80% of Kenyans and Ethiopian have these gene 🧬. This a much higher frequency than Caucasian population along with the fact that Most kalejin and Oromo populations respond to altitude much better than other ethnic groups is another factor. African tends to have better heat dissipation, Denser and finer bones, Longer tendons which all contribute to better running economy and efficiency at faster speeds. Caucasian dominant at a plethora of sports that on average their body composition suits more, strong man, weightlifting, Rowing, Cycling ect. My question to you coevett is would put your money on 500 Caucasian kids at random vs 500 East African at random ( Kenyan/Ethiopian/South Sudan/Somali) give them the same resources and training and which group would outperform the other? I’m talking the EA.

There's a much simpler explanation. Running is basically a time trial. You run 30-120min as fast as you can. Cycling is draft dominant and because of that the most important metric is 1-5min power. Aside from sprint/climb races, most bike racers win because of their ability to "break the elastic" with their ~3min power.
If we revise the genetic component to select for 60+min running ability vs 3min cycling ability then it's not hard to explain. Rift Valley people have pretty clear morphology and tested physio differences, combined with a wholesale wanting to compete in the sport celebrated in that community.
Rift Valley people have not proven themselves to be superior 3mim power output cyclists. They have again and again proven to be superior 60+min running athletes. That could be for 100 different reasons, but the reasons matter less than the outcome.
My theory was IT VARIES BY INDIVIDUAL, but Khendi opened my eyes that eveyone is equal to the greatest ever to do whatever and Racism is the ONLY reason everything is not totally equal, if we can eliminate racism, every sporting competition would end up in a Draw/Tied

Africa has been in a famine for how long ? East Africa is probably about 200 million people the rest of the world is like 50x that bro. No matter how many men died in WW they always still outnumber EA
