Yep. It’s always scary as f in a cab/uber heading to lga/jfk. Once there I’m finally able to relax and enjoy the rest of the trip…at least until cab ride after landing.

logistics - take early flights whenver possible...it may cost more, but if there is an issue with weather, plane, etc....there is still time to course correct
malfunction - still safer than driving on a public road
terrorism - not much you can do, but be aware of the left alone bag, psycho in the corner talking to themselves, etc
No. Don’t be silly. Airlines and Boeing are really embracing DEI. When it comes to flight safety, all that matters is the color of your skin or gender identity. Just imagine how bad things would be if instead hiring was based only on merit.
I just flew home. I noticed the airport I had a stop at had people walking digs around so people at the airport could pet them. probably a way to people feel less nervous.
I think most who are nervous drink at the bar or take pot before they fly these days.

Too much cost cutting by the manufacturers, too much outsourcing to shaky third parties, airlines hiring pilots and mechanics who don't have enough experience, and some crazed passengers high as a kite that scream discrimination if they aren't allowed to board. Department of Transportation is absolutely useless.
Look at Flight Aware and see some of the turnaround times for aircraft; a lot of them are on the ground for less that an hour before they take off again. How can an aircraft be checked for safety in that amount of time?
Recently on a flight going into Orlando. We were on final approach but the plane never got below 1500 feet. We were at the beginning of the runway and still at 1500 feet. Then made a big circle to the east and south before coming in again. Weather was clear. Not a word from the flight deck on what was going on.
