I can't stand bigotry. Guess how many men and women they had over the age of 25 at nationals.
BYU will disappear!

Casey Clinger is 26 with eligibility left next year. Nico Young is 21 and finished this spring. Something is strange in the NCAA to allow this
BYU’s top 7 this cross season
Rooks class of 2018. Corrigan class of 2020. Thompson class of 2021. Nokes class of 2019. Bons class of 2018. Hedengren class of 2022. Troutner class of 2018.
None of them are 25.
Now do the other sex.
I am fine with it for BYU or other schools with Mormon kids. We shouldn't prevent people from pursuing their dreams after fulfilling religious obligations
but the COVID waiver thing has proven to be one of the worst things in a lonnnng line of dumb things the NCAA has ever done
seeing college football/basketball players who are legit 26-years-old....like go get a job man it is absolutely embarrassing that you are 26 and playing against 18/19-year-olds
If they can come back after "religious reasons" if you want to call it that then everyone should be able to take a break for "religious reasons"
No one respects them. They can pretend all they want
You can. Everyone can. A coach explained the waiver to me when I was a student athlete. The NCAA refers to it as the 3 M’s. Military, maternity, mission. If you serve in the military your eligibility clock is paused. If you are pregnant your eligibility clock is paused. If you do a mission for any religion your clock is paused. So go ahead and go on a mission for your religion. And please stop the bigotry towards mine.
Wrong , I know two athletes denied. It's a scam and everyone gets denied except for BYU
Everybody goes towards BYU.
What about all BOTH the white and black international athletes who will start as 22/23 year old freshman and continue to compete for Iowa State, Alabama, Arkansas, etc…? Hell, sometimes even NAU and OK state will have some older guys on average starting than BYU…

It hurts XC athletes the most tbh. The 1500 down peak in the earlier 20s anyway which is why you dont see a lot of the older guys dominating. But in the 5k and 10k those lifetime miles are definitly legit.
Everyone is delusional about something in their lives.
But yes, all the rest of what you said I 102% agree with. Regardless, other competitive schools are worse with athletes being older.
No you don’t.
What about 1997-born Perry Mackinnon? How is he still kicking?
I don't understand the issue here. Granted, I'm not in the US. But people have X number of years of eligibility. X being the same for everyone (right ?). If they start college later or suspend it to do something else (it could also be a gap year for no specific reason) and then come back later to complete their degrees, why shouldn't they be allowed to participate in competitive sports?

Too many jokers on here wanting their participation trophy who will complain about any and everything that could possibly threaten that. Oh, and some just good, old-fashioned bigotry.
