If that’s the case, how come most runners suck at cycling? Also, the work in terms of wattage that a cyclist does is far greater than that of a runner.

Yep that wattage is crazy free wheeling down hills
Very high chance of dying from crashes and drowning in swimming and cycling. Pretty much every cyclist i know is now dead. I dont know any swimmers but thats probably because they drowned already.

Running is a safe pursuit.
All the runners I knew were eaten by mountain lions. Running makes you look like prey.
3. Running - scrawny anemic looking peeps in weird/scant attire
1) Running - low barrier to entry, if you hide your stats you can just lie on social media about how good you are. Easy to inspire the 5hour marathon joggers
2) Cycling - expensive to do properly & hard to do solo so need to find a group and decent location
3) Swimming - takes actual technique, can really do it with your Go-Pro or selfie stick out
How would you rank these sports in terms of appeal to normies? Which sport is the coolest to do?
One of the “appeals” of running to a “normie” would be its simplicity and relatively inexpensiveness, compared to the other two sports.
In CA, shorts and shoes at least half the year are all I needed for many years. Almost always anywhere could set out from my doorstep to do a run with only a basic plan to avoid traffic and predators. Simple, economical, interesting.
Running by far has the most participants.,,cost is low and no pool necessary. Next is likely cycling despite very expensive but more accessible than finding pools/lakes.
