I think about this all the time. I felt good in my prime, so I am building my high school athletes to 75-100 mpw. They don’t like it and most get hurt but it’s the only way to perform at the level they train and compete at
If you’re serious OP, I am similar. I need to be running a lot and hard to function normally. I think it’s depression. Unless I’m filling my time with running and exhausting myself I have too much energy and time to think about what I hate about myself and my job. Luckily, there are worse addictions and I do truly enjoy running and chasing goals. I just worry about myself when the inevitable comes along (injuries, getting older, etc.)
I need about 60 to feel not horrible, about 75 I feel ok. Might feel good at 100, but tough to stay motivated and fit it in (not super poor, but poor enough and desperately lonely even though I have too many friends). Too be fair though, I definitely need therapy and probably medication, and probably to live in someplace that’s less of a consumer hellscape than the US. I’m like 4 times as happy when I leave the US.
How can you tell he or she is poor? Lonely, maybe.
The probability of making even six figures and running 100mpw is vanishingly small.
Which is because nobody is stupid enough to waste their time running around if they valued their time as money. Outside of elites whose livelihood is distance running, only jobless fools run 100mpw.

If this is true and most get hurt, that's a sign something isn't working. You can't force high mileage, not everyone is cut out for 75-100 mpw

Well, if you value your time and the thing you enjoy doing with your time is running, it’s possible to run 100 mile weeks, not be a pro and value your time.
Would def rather run than watch garbage tv, play video games, or whatever it is you think people who ‘value their time’ should be doing.

Not true. I run 100mpw, make 6 figures, and have sex with my wife daily. It can be done.
It was the opposite for me. During the lockdown I got up to 75 mpw and eventually got so tired I had to walk up hills. Now I'm happy to do 30 mpw if I can run 17 off that.
