Biggest pet peeve when people say "do." As in "...I don't do Strava..." and at restaurants when people ordering from a menu say "I will do a #3." Aaargh! Nails on a chalkboard type of stuff.
On an elliptical workout on 3/22 on Strava she said:
""Thought my body was feeling recovered after being ill Saturday night but my hamstring and knee it was not on the long run yesterday lol So we are giving it a day +lift"

Dathan is touted as this phenomenal coach but in my opinion, the hurry is still out. Andrew’s should have made the team last year but didn’t. Huge opportunity last year for Hurta-Klecker as well but she also missed the team. This year has been all over the place. Klecker, Monson and Andrew’s are all injured. Vissa was also injured and missed indoors. Mario Garcia Romo had an awful indoors and might be injured now as well. He’s been out of social media. Haven’t seen him in any videos or pics recently. Ollie Hoare had a major injury last year and will be opening-up at the Aussie trials next weekend. Presumably healthy but was injured at the worst time last year and has to miss worlds. I get that they’re trying to be the best in the world and pushing the boundaries. That being said, the team has been remarkably healthy since their inception. Whatever changes they made this year aren’t working for most of the group. When half your team is injured, something is wrong.
I feel like it is especially weird since apparently they were ostensibly doing more base work farther into 2024 at the start of the year to try to mitigate overtraining/ burnout/ injury by the end of summer... also strange since one would expect a greater percentage of injuries at first when athletes begin a new training regime rather than a few years in with the same coach and set-up???

Joe Klecker just ran 27:08 for 10k at the Ten a few weeks ago, slick. He’s top 5 in the US for the 10k and may be able to sneak in for an Olympic slot at the trials. How is that not doing well?
For a guy of Joe's caliber, question marks around his Olympic chances mean he is in trouble. A year ago everyone assumed he was a lock, barring disaster.
Ah, perhaps. But funny that all of a sudden there was a change today from a public account to "request to follow". Can't take the heat on and off the track.
So Klecker, Monson and the others all have public accounts and Norris needs to hide hers and make it private?! 🙄 guess she’s so important.
Never a good look to hide things when you’re a pro runner. Sus
Klecker, in the past has been a big miles + fast easy days + solid workouts type guy.
In 2023 he was doing 110 mpw with most easy runs at low 6s (with solid workouts of course).
Similar to Graham Blanks (who has also dissapeared) and many other pros- that training works very well when things are clicking. But once you encounter a small setback things the demands on the training on top of the issue then snowballs quickly and then things blow up. It just isn't great for sustainability. And with the olympic cycle fast approaching, that stress and urgency doesn't allow to do a slow build and get things right. So the cycle will continue.
Seen it many times with many runners over the years.

Never a good look to say someone needs to have a public social media account just so they are available to “take the heat.” The fact that there are views out here like yours is all the justification a pro runner (or anyone) needs to go private.

A theory:
-Racing a good chunk and the necessary backing off for travel and racing well (which it seems Klecker/Monsok tried cheating), helps protect against injury/overtraining etc.
-The OAC was so laser-focused on training through the indoor races and then limiting the races or mini-tapering for the 10K crew might’ve thrown off the balance?
Just a guess, but it’s the main difference from last year where the put less emphasis on training through the BU race and January.
So how are you drawing the conclusion that Andrews is “injured” if you can’t see her workout history on Strava? Have the coffee-club boys posted anything about it, or what?

It's not a "training regime", stop calling it that. It's never called that.

regimen v. regime: "both words can refer to an organized plan for diet, exercise, or medical therapy, only regime can refer to a system of government" - Merriam Webster online
