They took down Goliath last year, but that version couldn't shoot.
Goliath 2.0 has bigs and speedy sharpshooting guards with depth at both levels.
Will still be a great game. SC will follow UConn blueprint for guarding Clark, and their bigs will just crush Iowa on the boards. On the other hand, LSU was physically dominant, but Iowa found a way to compete and win.
i don't understand the notion of S Car playing dirty. They are very tough, yes, but also very deep (9 deep), so Staley consistently has fresh legs hammering on defense like no other team. The difference with S Car this year is that they can shoot better. I can't see characterizing Pao Pao hitting threes as dirty play. Same with Hall and Parker and Johnson.
I am surprised that they don't play better with Cardozo, a national team player from Brazil.
IF Cardoso plays like she did last night Iowa needs to shoot 50% from 3 to keep up. Nc states girl is just as big as Iowa's girl and the nc state girl looked helpless against Cardoso

Cardoso classic old school big. She is amazing at rebounding, put backs and layups in the post, but doesn't have much of even a short jump shot.
They seem to get bored feeding her in the post, and she can be kept under control as a scorer with double team. Will be interesting what Iowa does with her, she was the back up to Boston last year.
The anti-Caitlyn Clark types have already lost. This thread is loaded with technical analysis of women's basketball. That didn't exist on forums like this until the explosion of television ratings and interest level due to Caitlyn Clark.

You can save strength for the next wokeism thread
Good point. I'm a UConn fan and you should see the anger about the last whistle and snark on Clark on those boards. I'm a lot more neutral.
The pre Clark record for TV viewers was about 2 million. The recent LSU Iowa game drew 12 million!
She came along at the right moment and has lifted the whole game.

The notion of them “playing dirty” has to do with the fact that they’re women. If they’re men playing that way, it’s considered “aggressive.”
I don’t know anything about the racial composition of the South Carolina team but if they’re black women, many here probably would consider them to be even dirtier.
