I’m a freshman in college that’s been running for about 4 years now. I managed to get recruited for a mid major D1 program. In cross season things were going pretty well…I was on the travel team and I felt great during workouts and races. Indoor was solid…not my best but I PRed in my main events. But now, in outdoor track, I can barely finish workouts. I get sore/fatigued so much easier…it’s making running really miserable. This has shown in my race performances as well. Since every run feels like garbage (even easy runs) I’m starting to lose my passion for the sport. I almost want to ask my coach if I can end my outdoor season early so I can recuperate for cross, but I’m afraid to talk about it since I’m here on a full ride…any advice?
