Well the MTA really is trying to screw over the city’s citizens lately. Delays are getting exhausting, they mismanage funds and are corrupt in who they give contracts to, overspend on the 2nd ave line (it was thr most expensive project per station by like 3-fold if I remember correctly).
Lately it’s been their mission to really troll the city. Regular people who need a car for work pay congestion fees, but essentially exempt taxi riders (carrying people who can afford a taxi to the city).
Now, it’s FU to the marathon, a defining event of the city, and they want to recoup “losses” over the past 40 years. Also trying this with the 5-boro bike tour. GTFOH.
