I honestly think that the situation is so bad, where lefties will soon be arresting you for calling a bearded male rapist a man, that however awful totalitarianism is, a few years of an extreme right-wing government is probably the only fix.

In any case, my point still stands. Lefties have set society on a slippery slope where the sacred value of free speech has gradually been eroded. It's inevitable that in fifty years or sooner that we will either be in some kind of Islamist hellhole or an 80's South American style junta. In either case, lefties are well and truly f k d.

Assuming you're British, you've got a rightwing government that's given the police powers to shut down protests that are 'too loud' and you have government ministers telling pro Palestine protesters they have 'made their point and should go home' and you have newspapers encouraging drivers to run over climate protesters in the road.

Instead the free speech debate is focussed on transgender people in Scotland.

If a person isn't sure what gender they are or thinking they are both at the same time, then how am I supposed to know what gender they are or which one they identify with in the moment (and might change an hour later or tomorrow, etc)? Everything is 'hate' speech these days even if you just politely disagree. All these people crying 'hate' are usually the ones who are the 'haters'. They 'hate' you don't accept their lifestyle. They hate you for not accepting their attempts to force you to accept their lifestyle through prison or fines or taxes. They are like the mad crowd in the story of Sodom and Gomorrah: they won't be content until they break down your door, come into your house, and destroy everything you've worked for or believe in simply because you politely disagree. They want special treatment, government protection, recognition for their 'condition', etc, but they'll deny you the same in a heartbeat. It's like everyone of them wants a trophy just for being alive or different. If you don't agree they deserve it, then like the Queen of Hearts in Alice in Wonderland..."Off with their heads!" Essentially people like this are narcissistic nihilists in disguise. "Hate speech" is going to be the new way to silence dissenters in countries where the progressive mind virus has become endemic but which do not have strong protections for expression. You won't see this under the current American framework -- thank God for the Constitution -- but other countries that have swallowed progressive postmodern thinking will all go down this road eventually. It's kind of ironic that although the modern-day progressive non-thinking arose here, it mutates into even worse insanity when it is picked up by other nations. I'm sure American progressives would like to see the law around expression changed here, but good luck gaining the influence to overturn our long history of freedom in that regard.
