Does anybody know of a calculator similar to it? I mainly use the CV, Tempo, and Threshold paces from it. I haven’t found another calculator that covers as wide of a range of information as that one.

I think it's similar to Jack Daniels.
Thank you for this. That is extremely helpful. Does anybody know if the website is down permanently, or temporarily? It's an incredible resource for training and if it's gone I would love to try and recreate it on excel.
Talking any advice from Tinman is insane. The guy is a moron
Fellrnr is the perfect example of a mediocre bum thinking he’s discovered “the secret” because he broke 3 hours for the marathon and now advocates all sorts of pseudo bullsh*t - no threshold training - downhill running - keto diet. Avoid at all cost.
Is there not a tinmom calculator?
Not that I can find! Just looking for a tool to break down paces and race equivalencies as well as his calculator did. Hoping it comes back!
I recommend the Jack Daniel's VDOT calculator, which has a free app. You could also try Greg McMillan's calculator.
Noooooo I loved that site
Still nothing, let's hope it's back soon...
Using the calculator has nothing to do with taking his advice - you might simply use the paces (no matter tinmans name for them, nor his prescribed training at that pace) as a reference point when setting training for athletes. For example if I have an athlete that is aerobically weak, I might give them mile repeats at a pace slower than the half marathon pace predicted by the calculator based on their 5k pb.
Exactly this. It’s a tool I use to prescribe paces. We are not doing tinman style training. Just largely aerobic workouts at different paces.
I haven’t seen a calculator that does as good of a job giving you ranges on paces, as well as equivalent performances.
The daniels one is okay, but it has threshold as a very specific pace and I find his easy run range to be too quick for my athletes. McMillan is alright but there’s a lot of info to put in for multiple athletes.
Does anyone have a spreadsheet with that they use?
There is a good one on the Run Doyen website. More for training for the 5k-Marathon distances though.
Anyone know if the site is coming back? Its been down for at least a day. I also use it everyday for my athletes
I noticed the paces are similar to Jack Daniels, but Jack uses the equivalent VDOT ratings and doesn't have CV pace. For now, the JD calc will work somewhat well, although I liked TM's calc for calculating sub-threshold workouts.
Who is fellrnr and how he did he become known in the running scene? (I know there is the site but if he's advocating bro science I'd stay away).
Well, the site will work excellently for you if you run a 15:35 5k, but otherwise you're out of luck because the calculation is done on the server side.
I use the calculator a lot and have found it useful. There are some workarounds, but the tinman calculator had it all right there.
Still down... I really hope the site comes back up! Such a useful tool that I use for my athletes all the time. Would be a shame to see it go
