Yeah, that is definitely more important to the average letsrun viewer than boston. Only the truly elite run wayzata alumni vs Boston which lets any scrub in.
Doug Soles has been at Herriman for only a couple of years, and this team is already getting representation in this. Carson Monsivais (2023 grad) - 4:24 / 9:42 / 16:36 5k at NXR / 15:57 5k on the track. All senior times. Drew Marks (senior now) - 14:53 at Woodbridge / 9:27 2-mile indoor / 4:16 1600 outdoor. Isaac Moore (senior now) - 15:56 at NXR / 9:34 3200 indoor / 4:34 1600 indoor
Note that there are some people in the class of 2023 that didn’t make Herriman varsity senior year but made it junior year (when there were no seniors on varsity)
Aaron Cantu was Newbury's 9th man in XC as a junior, then ran 8:56 as a senior. Doesn't count though because those were different years.
The real answer to your question may very well be Zaki Blunt, but I think Great Oak or American Fork may have had someone who was faster as an 8th man than Blunt.

Kind of unrelated to the topic, but Noah Manwaring was varsity for his old school sophomore year, but junior year at Herriman he didn’t make it, but he ran a 15:38 at NXR / 15:30 at RunningLane.
Soles mentioned in another thread that Herriman is trying to put 10 guys under 9:20 this spring, so I guess it will be these 3 guys and those that ran at NXN

Actually, Andrew Marks (Herriman) ran a 4:17.89. So he is close. He did run a 9:27 2-mile at Nike Indoor nationals though. He is a senior and it’s only March so he has time to do even better

Other NP class of 2022 guys Oliver Windham-Hughes - 14:58 3 mile at the ASICS Temecula Twilight (where he beat Blunt) / 4:26 1600. Both senior year. Adam Olson - 1:54 800 senior year/ Never ran XC.

Niwot had 14 guys run 16:05 or faster last XC season. They mostly ran at altitude and muddy courses, so there are a lot of strong runners on that team who weren't top 7.

At NIN, Herriman had 7 guys under 9:28 for 2 miles, and that didn’t include Steadman or Ogomo.
I know at least 8 sub 28 10k guys that never ran in high school, and I know a guy that ran 14:16 for 5,000m xc in high school in Kenya and didn't make varsity.
