Jourdon, Simmons, Griffith, Fast Horse, Ritzenhein, Hedengren, Koon, etc etc all entered in the guys and girls 3200!! Engelhardt and Ricks are running the usual... Mile and 800 respectively.
Notably absent are Shea (at Worlds XC rn, probably too short of a turnaround time to compete) and Leachman.
Loads of top girls entered in the 3200. Top names including but certainly not limited to: Emily Wisniewski, Gioana Lopizzo, Isabel Allori, Sophia Rodriguez, Hanne Thomsen, Addy Ritzenhein, Rylee Blade, Ella Hagen, Abby Faith Cheeseman, and Jane Hedengren.
Looking at the races and some of the heats, Rich seems to have given out of state kids better placement. I don’t get it. Why are slower kids in some of the faster races while CA kids are with faster times are in slower heats.

Couple of reasons I'm assuming. California meets are easy to get competition at because of how many schools there are and how many fast kids are located in one state. States like Idaho have plenty of solid teams and athletes, but its hard to get good competition, meaning their PR's aren't entirely honest about where their fitness is at.
Also there are plenty of states and areas that have 2000-3000 feet of altitude. Not enough to be considered an altitude state, but enough to drop half a dozen seconds over 3200m.

The jet lag from Europe to California a few days later would be rough.
Leachman has a meet in Texas.
Texas post season starts before Arcadia so the Texas state association wouldn’t sanction the meet and rich only allows athletes to compete if they represent their high schools

And also Leachman doesn't really need Arcadia anyway. Arcadia is for runners who want to run with other fast runners in order to run a fast 3200. Leachman has already run the 3 fastest 3200s in history all by herself.

Anthony Fasthorse AND Chase Pack (American Fork) will be in this meet
Hopefully they will be in the same race, with Fasthorse in first and Chase Pack in second with a lap to go. I would really like to hear the announcer call that final lap.

Half the northern states haven’t started outdoors yet and if they have it’s 45 and windy. Not sure what that’s worth time wise but it makes some sense

Ironically, on the complete opposite side of things, Leachman can't go to Arcadia because Texas is already starting their state qualification meets.
