That’s been Vanhoy’s M.O for a while. The man is insecure and has been doing this since his Ole Miss days.

Ryan Vanhoy is a strange dude. He’s also at a dead end mid major. Except no big results anytime soon
OK. So, let's see why he may have moved there...
- One of the most beautiful places in the world to live with a fantastically high quality of life.
- Small school that will appreciate good results with no expectations of a major title.
- Have a stable of pro runners training there, from whom he receives 10-15% of their earnings.
Seems like a pretty smart guy who made a major upgrade from living in Mississippi. Just had a 3:51 miler transfer in (John Lester) so now he has a potential major talent to work with along with Craig and since talent attracts talent he can expect more in the future. If I were a coach I would be very happy in that situation.
Why have there been so many threads recently either about or turned into hate threads for a coach that you all claim is so mediocre? Shouldn't you be happy he's at Cal Poly if hes this bad?

Yes, my bad had him confused with someone else. His results are still excellent. You say he was overcooked in high school? Will be interesting to see what results Vanhoy has with him then.
I have lived in many places from the largest cities to logging towns in Oregon but I know a great place to live when I see it and SLO is one such place.
