hi Someone just asked me to make a Master Thread after Rod Dixon wrote earlier this week .
ok so ... I left American Samoa at the end of 1988 after serving as the NAtional Coach to that Nation as it was thier first time they were allowed to participate in the Olympic Games and needed soem organization there.
I now have a 10 year old son, Gary Fanelli Jr. who lives in Honolulu with my dear 2nd ex-wife Connie.
I am in Philadelphia area again, this is where my son Gary was born.
I still run alot and coach runners.
I don't put much emphasis on beng competitive now as I did. It is not important. I had a long and good career as a runner and give thankjs to God for being able to have done what I did.
I do run easily though and it has had me ranked over the years by running times mag as a top master or honorable mention..... last year at 54 I had run4:43 road mile in Bryn Mawr Running Com Mile , 16:27 at 5k and 57 for 10 miles Broad St. Run and 1:15;19 at Phila 1/2 MAr.....so that is quite fun.
Ah yes I am a Grandfather too as my 1st daughter Celeste has a 3 yr old !! LIFE IS GOOD.... I count my b= many blessings... KOOL !!
