That 9:35 was run in Nairobi (5500 ft) and converts to about 9:20. Very impressive indeed.

Agreed about Maatoug. I've followed Dutch athletics closely for 7 or 8 years. She is easily the best English speaker of the bunch and most interesting person. I think I've mentioned that her older sister is a member of the Dutch House of Representatives. Maatoug did an interview with the Duke school paper in which she said another sibling is the artsy kid while she's always been known as the sports kid.
Speaking of the Duke Chronicle school newspaper, I didn't realize until tonight that Maatoug has a broken foot. Perhaps that caused her to reevaluate everything and contributed to entering the portal. I looked for information regarding her transfer. Instead there was a blurb from the April 22 edition saying she was out for the season with a fractured foot. That is just about the time Stride Report broke the news that she had entered the portal:
Regarding Reckart it's difficult to tell what is going on. She is still listed as assistant coach on the Duke website. But she's had a couple of oddities on her Instagram stories recently that don't jive with still being involved. She was making appearances with organizations that have track and field connections but absolutely nothing to due with Duke or the NCAA.
TSR suggested NAU, NCSt, OR & Wash as the most likely destinations for Maatoug. I'd put a few SEC schools in play also. Another All-American distance runner with a foot injury has done well at FL and the squad needs to replenish firepower (Asekol, Mazza-Downie, Thorner leaving soon). AL may not be the most attractive state in which to live and study, but who wouldn't want to train with Lemngole and Olemomoi every day?

Can confirm she was let go. Source is an injured athlete on the team.
No way you cited tsr as a credible source for possible destinations…. They just list schools that would fit her athletically and take no account of her as an individual.
There is no link, but it is clear she is not involved with the program. Again, I don’t think this was handled well.
Archie Noakes to Wisconsin.
