TBH, given that she's an Olympic champion, double world champion, she has a pretty low profile in the UK.

When imposing the ban on Christine O the IAAF said there was no suspicion that she had taken any PEDs. They didnt have to say this.

When long term UKA Chair Ed Warner resigned he said the most impressive UK athlete of his era was Christine O. Given the choices he had to 'select' just one, I think he agrees with the IAAF take on it. I'd bet my house she was not a doper. There's chapter and verse on how each of her 3 missed tests occurred. Human life, in London, in traffic. No, I dont expect people to check these out nearly 20 years after the events.

This case has been overblown from the beginning and I'm not sure what exactly took a year and half to investigate. As another user posted above, she simply showed up for a session at the same time as her boyfriend, there really wasn't anything to suggest he was coaching her besides him placing some cones. The tabloids were snooping around the track and took pictures and reported her. Really not sure what stretched this out for so long.

The "well don't date a convicted doper then" argument is... well sure, but they have been together for about 10 years as I understand? It's a little more complicated than that.

Furthermore, I don't see the relevance of mentioning her sister in the article, much less it being "journalistic malpractice" to not do so—they are their own people, Victoria was a youth during Christine's career. Furthermore, Christine's whereabouts case was literally right after the introduction of the rule and none of the circumstances suggested she was *lying*, and she passed tests remarkably close to the times she missed them. I doubt they would have been so on top of half-life scheming and plausible-deniability excuse making right after the inception of the new system. It's for this reason that her case was viewed by many people (not everyone) with a little sympathy. With regard to her apparently being a low profile in the UK for an Olympic and World champion, Athletics is not particularly relevant even in the UK anymore, which is a shame. The most that most exceptional T&F athletes get is 15 minutes of fame where most people see them in the news/etc., and then a few adverts, and then they fade back into B-list territory and appear on BBC gameshows. Indeed, I've seen Christine on a few of those recently.

As for your words "convicted" and "malpractice", you can't just make up criminal and civil implications to make your point. Neither apply. Anyone who looks into Victoria’s progression will be suspicious that she is doping. The fact that the people she ‘hangs with’ also dope, seals the deal for me. On the point about her sister; no professional athlete misses 3 tests ‘by accident’.

Exactly how old are you to come to this conclusion. It's like we brits say we sounded the bugle in 1940 and you didn't hear it till pearl harbour. And I would loveforyou to meet a WW11 veteran and let them tell you they just sat around and did nothing. Life is not like the movies you moron.
