The best way to get away with a false start is to look at the surroundings beforehand, just in case. Check where the cameramen are. Check where there are a group of spectators consistently making more noise than anyone else. Look for a bank of lights. Check if any field events are going on at the same time.
Then handicap the lot toward most likely to least likely.
If you happen to false start, immediately point in that direction. It might not work but you are stealing percentage points from the bewildered norm.

looks like a blatant false start, but we can't make a definitive judgement without being there. the noise might have been intolerable and mics just don't pick it all up. hard when athletes can just abuse that though.

I think they got it right. Runners shouldn’t be getting DQed for false starts. Just start the race over.
After the 6th consecutive 100m heat that has taken 5 attempts to get started (each restart taking about 5 minutes because of the length of time the sprinters take to walk back to the start), you'll change your mind.
Back in the day where every person could false start once before risking DQ, it was getting insane because they all tried their luck the first time.
Well that looks like a blatant false start by her. Pretty obvious from the video and that's not with slowing it down or needing to really see it with a great deal of magnification.
The athlete to her left twitched in the set position right before she pushed out. Most likely she took off anticipating or assuming that one of them would get flagged for the false start.

Clearly you weren't around track before they changed the rule. Before 2003 everyone got a single false start. They happened ALL the freaking time. Especially at the collegiate level. After 2003 they changed it to one false start for the field, and then the second one for anyone was a disqualification. But it only slightly decreased the false start rate because of gamesmanship. People purposely jumping the gun so that the next person that twitches gets booted. 2009 with one and done, really did decrease the number of false starts, fairly dramatically.

CAS not only cleared her of the doping allegation but also threw a major shade at the AIU accusing it of forging a third missed test for Amusan, just to ban her.
CAS determined at a hearing January 19 that the athlete missed two and not three out of competition tests in a 12 month period.
AIU asked for time to produce evidence of a third missed test. It failed to produce one even with a six months extension. So much for integrity , their integrity.

Hi, did they post the full decision? I was wondering the details as well but they hadn't posted them yet.
Although I question the validity of your comment since their summary doesn't even say she missed a test but rather had 2 filing failures.
