One thing some of you rookies cannot grasp is that, in addition to the faster shoes and tracks, Henry could not get paced to a world record because there wasn’t anyone around to do it. Nico has run great with his 12:57 and 26:52 but he was paced the entire race both times.
What do you people want??? Does Nico need to run 26 flat to be better than Rono? Seriously, his PR is 30 seconds faster...
Or is it that nobody can ever be better than the dudes you grew up with, everyone else has an unfair advantage and is some type of cheater (Shoes, lights, pacers, better drugs).
Why is it so hard for you to admit that someone might be better than Henry Rono...

There are definitely some runners who are better than Henry Rono. But Nico Young is not one of them.

Having run faster than someone does not necessarily mean that one is better than that person. I am a huge fan of Ben Flanagan. And Ben won the NCAA 10,000m and now has a faster PR than Rono. But I do not believe that Ben is a better runner than Rono was.
