Married men: How do you deal with your wife when she's being irrational and not really making sense?

If you have the temperament to just recognize the situation and just take whatever unwarranted things she has to say, best to just do that. If you don't respond much, she will lose interest in the topic. If you don't, and you feel the need to defend yourself and fight back, do so realizing you can't win a rational fight with a person acting irrationally.

If you want a real long term relationship, like 50 years long, you need to able to recognize the moments where you just need to say to yourself, "This too shall pass".

That's mostly what I've done. I will say I struggle with letting things go sometimes though... I have a very good memory, and so if situations like this happen very often, it's easy for me to just think about them a lot and dwell on how I'm with someone who doesn't make sense a lot of the time. Once in a blue moon is fine, but I really struggle when someone is irrational frequently.

Can you give some examples? This is quite vague. There's a big difference between a disagreement over not making sense over e.g. forgetting the price of a chocolate bar versus not making sense over some important issue??

The way you frame the question sounds like you blame the other person. How about starting with a general, how do you handle disagreements?

All kidding aside, this is usually your best bet as opposed to hanging around and saying or doing something you might regret.
