Any idea who’s running? Sahlman has Mike prelims, Quax and Young individual races 40 mins earlier. Will be tough to come back.

Probably gonna be Hasty and Drew Bosley who don’t have any individual events.
I’d imagine something like:
hasty 1200
Nyoak 800
bosley 1600
Maybe try to bring Sahlman back from prelims for the 800 leg?
Don’t know if it means anything but they currently have Sahlman, Givens, Quax and Young listed in that order on the heat sheet.
That is the qualifying team. I could almost see Nico trying to come back. It would be insane but off the double earlier in the year he might be able to do something.
Really need to see Aaron lift that redshirt and bust out a 1:46.xx relay 800
I don’t think Aaron will ever run in a college uniform
The heat sheet lists who ran the qualifying time. But I agree, bosley will probably be on the 1600, and I wouldn't be surprised if they bring back sahlman for the 1200 or 800 leg with Nyoak taking the whichever he doesn't run.
That would be great in Bosley is back in form to run a solid mile, but I see him more as a 5k / 10k guy and he's coming off injury. Though he did run a 3:39 1500 a couple years back. Nyoak ran a 3:57 this season, so he may be a good option for the 1600. If he's fit but not 100%, Bosley in the 1200 might make sense as there's often not much separation of the teams in the first leg.
Did NAU run body doubles?
Wouldn’t be surprised is smith told Colin to chill and save himself for tomorrow once they knew it was over.
He still split a 4:01… after a 3:58 earlier I wouldn’t call that chill lol
Bosley not 100%, Sahlman gassed from the mile, and Kang Nyoak not ready for the big stage yet. i suspect smith told sahlman to coast and not waste his energy. tomorrows mile is a big chance to score points.
Yeah, they were clearly just trying to steal some points without sacrificing the individual events tomorrow. Hoping it would bunch up so Sahlman could take a crack on the anchor leg.
Winders on the Iowa State team ran a 3:54 1600 split. Fastest 1600 split of the relay. Team only finished 7th though.
Terrible decision to run Sahlman on the 1600 anchor. The kid is real talented but will be in trouble in the Final of the mile. No idea why he ran the relay.
The mile is a crapshoot anyway so yeah, fresher legs... This is not hindsight, this is experience speaking. He now has less chance in the mile. He's going to get knocked around and Im guessing 3 seconds max between the whole field. All about position and time trial qualifier times dont matter. They're all good. Thats why you wont see Baston or Bizymana today. In their defense, they had to take a chance at a trophy or wonder IF later. The weight throw 6 points was bonus but now negated by the d med.
I would agree they wanted to take a big swing here with Sahlman.But.....
But a huge swing and a miss in that there was no leg by Sahlman that got this done, none, not even 3:53 on a tough double back. Plus, at the same time they ran him two roughly 4 minute or better miles within 2 hours going into a field today where there is no wiggle room.
Really bad gauge of what else you were throwing in on a DMR that was 13 seconds back, is what it is.
Well, one this is for sure, if your 1200 guy is out of it, the time lost to the 400/800 legs getting away from the exchange is definitely hard to make up on a short track. Kinda hopeless for them by anchor leg.
