I don't understand the popularity of chain pizza delivery places

Same reason people eat McDonald's, while not the best option, they know the name and it's an easy choice to pick when too lazy to think of another option

It boggles my mind that those places exist in NYC. It's one thing in suburbia, but in a city with 50,000 better options it makes no sense.

Pizza in South Florida is horrible. Growing up in the northeast I had great pizza. All the mom and pop places down here are mediocre to bad. The only good pizza that's local is Jet's. They have a Detroit style that's great.

Nothing beats Cacca Jones.

They know exactly what they are getting and its readily available. And cheap and to be fair, decent value.

Same with dominos. I can get 4 or 5 pizzas for like $30. Yes, the fancy and much better local pizza place is an option (that I take at times) but 1 pizza is $23.

Look, buddy. The average guy who owns the pizza joint downtown will never....and I mean never kiss Peyton Manning on the lips like that Papa John owner John did.

Are you insane? You can't beat the dominos deals from a $$ perspective.

My wife likes high end pizza but up until about 5 years ago, I would always order the dominos medium deal. I forgot what the price was , but it was insane. It looks like now it's two mediumas for $13.98. So 1 pizza for $20 or two for $14. Which do you want?

Do you think your high end pizza is actually better for you? Please tell me how 'high-end' is way better nutritional than the 'garbage'? Same ingredients, right?

There are also 50k worse options… For 10 bucks dominos is good enough. I don’t need every meal to be the best possible.

A lot of Pizza Huts actually do seem to be shutting down from what I’ve seen.

Dominos and Papa Johns aren’t perfect, but as others have said can be convenient and a good value. I like the peppers that come with Papa John’s and Dominos has pretty good subs in addition to their pizza. The dominos thin crust isn’t bad at all imo.

Pizza is a party food. You eat it with your hands. You buy 10 or 20 of them for your big event so everyone gets a slice.

They will be drunk, smoking weed, other drugs, very loud, lots of behavior you can't do at a restaurant.

A restaurant putting single pizzas on tables can't compete with a pizza factory sending stacks of boxes to big parties.

I went to Rome with my parents and my dad compared the pizza to Pizza Hut.
He also thought the best yogurt I ever had in my life had gone bad. It’s ok.
My parents don’t know what a high end restaurant or hotel experience is like either. It’s not bad, just all relative to what they’ve encountered in their lives.

lots of people don’t have those experiences or they grew up with it and it’s what they know and they prefer it.
I think that’s what’s going on with the pizza example.

Pizza was invented by Italian-Americans, not Italians.

Neapolitan pizza is a simple fix-it-yourself thing they make on their lunch breaks. They dump lots of whatever on a crust. Usually not tomato sauce or cheese. Not what we call pizza.

my culture (italian) is NOT your costume. if you aren't at least 51% italian please stick to papa johns, dominos, pizza huts, etc.. keep the real pizza for us REAL ITALIANS. thank you

When I watch the Sopranos, I only see one Italian (Furio), the rest of the characters are just New Jersey-Americans.
