I think Tennis players Clijsters and Henin were better-known internationally than their cyclists, not so long ago.
They can’t win the Tour de France anymore, unlike Luxembourg, Denemark or Slovenia.

Slightly off topic but Belgium had a man who was known as the Hitler of the Congo. He was just as bad, If not worse than Hitler.
