Steve Waithe, who coached track and field at multiple NCAA programs, received a five-year jail sentence for trying to trick women into sending him nude photos.
I'm too old to be of the generation(s) that regularly takes nudes of themselves, but I can't imagine ever handing over my phone if I had that kind of thing on there. I guess it's just casually accepted that everyone's got 'em, so people don't even think about it.
Quoting the article; prosecutor demanded a stiff sentence.
To a diff poster: amazingly no sex involved here, at least in this specific trial. The coach stole and manipulated his athletes to get their nude photos from cell phones. He then sold and traded them online.
Can someone explain to me how he got the nudes from 50 athletes? Does literally every girl on the team keep a nude on her phone?
Prosecutors said Waithe “left behind a devastating path riddled literally with dozens of victims” and have called for him to be jailed for 84 months, including the 17 months he has already served since his arrest, along with 36 months of supervised release. They accused him getting photos from more than 50 victims and trying to get them from another 72.
Hadsell is too busy banging models and flying around the country. Dude is like a cat always landing on his feet.
In the interest of being fair, Hadsell didn’t do anything illegal. Setting that aside, what I find to be the most interesting about him is that I don’t think any other disgraced former coach has such a fanboy club on this site. He was sleeping with his athletes. Drinking at practice. Got fired. And yet there’s still a ton of really successful coaches on here that put the guy on a pedestal. Even women coaches seem to fan club the guy. He shows up at USTFCCCA convention. Shows up on track podcasts. Has even been interviewed for NCAA jobs. I don’t get it. What is the allure?

I'm the same as you.
What I don't get is sending them. I've had women send them to me unsolicited. They just like doing it, I guess.
I've asked to send them and I just reply- I don't do that. I think of everything that could go wrong.
Having said that, I am not victim blaming. He's an idiot and deserves everything he gets every day he's in prison.
