I think he's getting close enough to hold 3k WR pace... but again he's a thinking man. Olympic gold is more important than a WR that will be erased in the future. Priorities!
Except Kerr just broke a WR which is conclusive proof he is in WR fitness, and he beat the then faster Jakob with superior tactics in Budapest. Sorry if this makes you salty.

An indoor world best. Kerr is in tremendous shape, but there’s a faster indoor 3k or two, and then Jakobs 7:54, Komens 7:20 and a few faster outdoor 3k marks. I think most people consider that to be WR fitness ~ 7:20
I'm beginning to think Nuguse is the Steve Scott of the '20's: really nice guy, wildly talented, not afraid to race the best, but somehow never quite getting the major win.
When Nuguse narrowly beat Mills 3 weeks ago after Mills was almost.knocked off the track, I was 'making excuses for him'.
Now Nuguse is the new Cole Hocker and if he only was on Kerr's shoulder at the bell, for sure he would have won as nobody can live with his kick.
The disrespect shown to Kerr 2 weeks after he won the WC and Jakob pulled Nuguse to a 3:43 was unreal. If you look back on that thread and the consensus was that if Kerr had been in the race he would have ran 3:45 or 3:46, well behind Nuguse.
Fogg was a good bit closer to Mills than Mills was to Nuguse. It was no contest. Kerr was the best man yesterday and is in great shape. He still should’ve run Pre pretty obviously, but wanted to take an easy win over potentially ending season on a loss. Sounds like he’s announcing his season soon and I’m gonna guess low-key 800/5000 in US, Oslo DL and London DL.
Not sure about the London DL. It's very close to the Olympics and I suspect he'll want to be done with racing before that. Of course, it's his home meet and I suspect the appearance fee will be pretty substantial. Interestingly, it will be a mile at London rather than a 1500 - the historic (in Britain at least) Emsley Carr mile. He might fancy a shot at Cram's British record. I think he might go for Pre in May since it's pretty local for him, then a possible Monaco-London double which could be done in one trip - if he did Oslo and London, that's two transatlantic trips which I think he'd like to avoid. Monaco gives him a shot at the British 1500 record, which he desperately wants. And I don't don't think Oslo will pay him enough since they'll commit most of their money to Jakob and Warholm.
Kerr is not in “WR fitness” and he is not a superior tactician in any regard. It’s ironic that you say “diehard fanboys” when every post you have in bashing on Jakob and praising Kerr 😂.

No, the actual WR is 7:54.1 held by Jakob Ingebrigtsen. By your logic, Jakob is in superior shape. Also, there is no point arguing with you because you won’t admit Jakob was sick so 🤷
Josh Kerr used to allow himself to get too far behind before the kick as well, which is what happened in 2021, though at the time he was also probably not fit enough to run low 3:28. Nuguse will learn. What he could do in the NCAA in DMR's he cannot do against top world competition. But he understands that he has to be within range by the bell lap. It's still another question of insuring that he has that kind of positioning. Centro and Lagat were geniuses at getting in the right position and we know that Nuguse has everything it takes, a super fast mile time, 3:43.9, a fast 3k, 7:28i, fast closing speed, 25.24 yesterday, and he is in his physical prime but only in his second full professional season.

Exactly, people are acting like Kerr was always some tactical god his whole career. Nuguse is way ahead of where Josh was in his second year as a pro, having already run a 3:43 mile, winning at the Diamond League over a world champion (which was over Kerr himself last year), and getting a major medal too. Plus, Yared is 24 and Josh is 26. The standard some are judging Yared on is wildly unfair.

Kerr run 1:45:35 (800m) in 2019, did Nuguse do that? Furthermore the difference of age is 1 year 8 months, because Nuguse will be 25 in two months.

Kerr turned pro in 2018. What he didn't do in 2019 is win a major medal. It took him til 2021 to do that. Nuguse has already done that halfway through his second year as a pro.
Nuguse never seems to respond to the initial move when guys start getting themselves into position for the final kick, yet always finds some extra gear toward the end when it’s too late. It’s pretty surprising/impressive he has the resume he does given that fact. Most runners would be also-rans if they raced the same way.
Did you see how Haile Geb instantaneously changed his speed the moment Paul Tergat unleashed his long kick for home from 2000m out at Atlanta 96? He used his arms!!!
Did you also see how Hicham El G instantaneously changed his speed in almost identical time and space as Kenenisa Bekele in Athens 2004 5000m??? He also used his arms!!!
Both Haile Geb and Hicham El G were 1970s kids, completely unradiated and unexposed to anthropogenic RFs/EMFs and developed very good nervous systems and axonal myelin sheaths that bestowed them with great arm-leg coordination, and what generation was Nuguse? He was born into the early 2000s right smack in the middle of the radiation technological boom!!! What's the result??? Well, he has stunted arm-leg coordination due to disadvantaged nervous system development from irradiation despite having the advantage of supershoes, and, also the advantage of doped track surface (for outdoor).
I assure you, Haile Geb and Hicham EL G would bury Nuguse at any distance from 800-marathon in both supershoes, and lousy shoes. Both kicker's race, and, long run for home.

Yooohooo!!!!! Yes I absolutely agree with you that Nuguse has non-existent arms and arm carriage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been saying that the whole time that the present generation of American milers have stunted nervous system development from Hocker to Nuguse with horrendous moving and carrying arms!!!!! Hobbs is slightly better but even then his arm carriage seems to hinder his running momentum a tad unlike Hicham EL G, Haile Geb, Kenenisa etc whose arms move beautifully and efficiently and encourages/creates momentum!!!
