On the men’s side, no one in the 200, 400, 800, or any field events? They say they’re emphasizing medal chances and top eight finishes. Are there other athletes who deserve a chance? Younger athletes with development opportunities? Seems sort of embarrassing for a home country to have so few entries.

I'll crap on UKA at every opportunity, but can't this time. They selected every athlete that had a qualifier and also wanted to be selected. This one's on the athletes, not UKA for once
The names needed to be submitted by 11th February, so before the national champs. I don't think it's unfair to not take up this option and make people earn their places.
Yeargin's fastest time this winter is 53.41. That's not even in the ballpark of being competitive at a world championship. There is no point in putting someone on a team when they are clearly not in good shape.
Yeargin finishing near last at the indoor world championships would help no one and serve no purpose. The best thing for her to do is to keep training and hopefully get into good enough shape to make the Olympic team.
Yes it’s embarrassing to send so few athletes. What the hell is going on with UK athletics? So many top names missing from this (guess they opted out) but surely they could find at least one person for each event. What is the harm? Good racing practice for young athletes.
It’s in Glasgow for god’s sake! They don’t even have to pay for a flight.. Though apparently Jemma Reekie’s family can’t even get tickets to watch so I guess they’re not even supplying family tickets. Tight wads.
If they want to develop athletics in this country they are going about it in completely the wrong way
Germany is worse..the ones we could send are not interested. Focusing on Euro or Olympics. But they do not understand you need to train competition too.
Yes. But I do have respect for those athletes that do take it seriously. Jemma Reekie is fully in to it and excited to go for gold.
Laura Muir, for example, could also swerve like many of the top UK athletes seem to be but she seems very humble and talks about ‘being excited to have booked her ticket but still have to go through the qualification process’. I mean she’s amazing, as if she won’t get in.
Currently the Scottish athletes are doing us proud. It may be because it’s being held in Glasgow but it’s really not that far for other Uk athletes.
Two of their best two athletes are competing and appear to be fit (Kerr and Muir) while Keely appears to be injured otherwise would compete. Reekie is running. So seems they actually do care.
It's also Euros this year, so many are targeting that in early June rather than indoors. It's hard to peak three times in a year for most athletes, though I think they should prioritise a home champs over Euros. But as someone else said, Britain doesn't have much of a culture of indoor athletics
Yeah you are right. I think I’m impatient to see some form! And athletes from other countries such as Bol have been all over the indoors. But I guess it is different in each country.
Do we know Keely has definitely been injured? As she has definitely been training in South Africa. Maybe her team want to be cautious with her.
World Indoors is in Glasgow and they announced their team today - 6 men total across all events!!!
The women isn’t much better - 9 individuals plus a 4x4.
They can’t blame money this time cause there are minimal travel costs and I am sure most athletes would happily pay their own way if selected.
Could they limit the competition to 3 entrants per event - from the entire world. That way no pesky non medal winners would set foot in the glorious medal winner uk..
Team GB needs to dissolve and countries need to represent themselves like in every other sport. That would solve the funding issue. Kerr and Wightman and Muir run for Scotland. Other blokes can run for England, etc.
