Why would it have made a difference? He had super shoes before most and still wasn't "unstoppable."

I love Rupp but 5th/4th at Olys/WCs is better than any other American in the 10k since well before I was born. Rupp wasn't even close to 5th in his first Olympics.

If Kenenisa Bekele can run 26:17 without super shoes, and Rupp can run 26:46; why would Rupp suddenly improve by 30+ seconds with the assistance of super shoes without Bekele improving at all?

I have another take. So Rupp and 2 others have the secret shoes and get 1 2 3. Rupp is less than a minute in front of Ghebreslassie and Simbu. Ward 1:25. How much difference did the shoes make to that race?

Not true. He tested positive four times during the 1999 TdF. The positive tests were covered up under the excuse that it was from a cream to treat saddle sores, supported by a back dated prescription.

Also Tour de Swiss in 2001. Not revealed until Floyd/Tyler but Lance paid a "bribe" of sorts reportedly to the UCI in the form of a million dollar testing piece of equipment to make this test go away. It did. Quite ironic about the equipment.

.....But later, a French journalist was able to get access to drug test results from the 99 tour rider urine samples stored for future testing. The riders names and respective samples were not matched by name but by numerical codes could only be released with direct athlete approval. Lance, being supremely confident and cocky, allowed this reporter access years later believing all results from 99 were negative so he had no worries. Turns out six of Lance's tests were positive. Again no investigation or follow up by the UCI. ...Lance was at the peak of his popularity and his power was beyond even the UCI.
