Just the fact that he was their only child increases the devastation factor tenfold. I don't suppose we know enough about the "strange people" just yet to judge what went down. but could be very interesting to see what comes out in the days ahead.
The article implies the Dad suspects foul play and is calling for an investigation. Very sad.
Someone else posted a theory about it possibly not being an accident but the thread was deleted.
Good. This is for the police to figure out, not for the resident letsrun conspiracy idiots to drool over.
Can't talk about it?

I'm sure conspiracy theories will have a field day with this one.
However I found some google street maps of the road and while it looks like a well paved road, immediately I see say a heavy truck on the wrong side of the road at the apex of a blind corner:
I imagine Kenyans aren't the safest drivers, and it was 11pm and he wasn't wearing a seatbelt himself. Probably the simplest explanation is the best - wrong place wrong time.

Wow the roads are beautifully paved, nice and smooth and luxurious!!! It isn't what I thought it was with soil, dirt, rocks like in the himalayas!! It really was Kelvin taking his own life right now since the roads are so beautifully designed and created!! You have got to be very negligent to kill yourself by your own hand or lack of alertness on such incredibly beautiful roads!!!
I just posted what I think is certainly possible and it was immediately removed.
I hope I'm wrong but it's possible.

This thread is wrong
A vehicle that damaged could easily have been run off the road at a dangerous spot.
You would be unable to assess that from how damaged it is

Good, sounds like it was a useless waste of a thread.

What did you post? Can you repost asap? I found the roads unbelievably beautiful and luxurious comparable to a modern city's highways!!! It's 2-way single-file, no potholes, no rock, no dirt, no sand, just amazing. It most definitely then must have been Kelvin messing up at the wheel in order to get an accident. There wasn't even an oncoming vehicle at all to force Kelvin off the road into the ditch!!! It was Kelvin himself going into the ditch ALL BY HIMSELF DAMN IT!!!
The amount of negligence has hit sky-high levels for Kelvin based on the way he got himself in an accident!!! They say it takes 2 hands to clap to cause a problem, but in this case, there was no other errant driver or vehicle that participated in the accident and only Kelvin alone! That it was dark is not an excuse for his negligence to hit sky-high levels.

I used to have reason to study mortality rates on roads and highways in African countries. Mortality rates on African highways and roads thirty years ago were significantly worse than in U.S. I am not going to comment one way or another on circumstances surrounding his death this weekend. I know this: We do not take care of our stars well enough, T&F. Our stars, T&F, it is said get excellent medical care. Our stars, T&F it is said eat excellent meals. What about safety?

Sheep aren't known to be super diligent about following local traffic laws and crossing at appropriate points. Seems like he could have seen an animal and made a poor decision about swerving to avoid rather than just hitting it.
But no you all are probably right, I'm sure Kipchoge teleported in and grabbed the wheel to swerve him into a tree and then teleported back out before it hit the tree.
