Sophie o’sullivan Running the mile. Can she duplicate her 4:02 at WC or even break 4:00?

A quick question: CBU athletes don't appear to be racing indoors at all. Any idea why? Sorry if I've overlooked something obvious, but I checked tfrrs and couldn't locate any CBU results since XC Nats. Same for the past few years, no meet results in Dec, Jan & Feb. On the team's website, no meets are scheduled this year until early March.

SO'S also entered in the 800m.

Not this early and on an indoor track. Big difference between running on a 300m track against college athletes in February and running on a 400m track against Chepchirchir, Haylom, Snowden, Johnson, etc. at the World Championships in August. Only result so far this indoor season has been 4:35 for the mile; her best last indoor was 4:33. Give her time ... Paris is a long way away.

Remember, only two college athletes have ever broken 4:00 - Jenny Simpson and Addy Wiley. Both did it outdoors and both did it in Diamond League events.

Not for the mile, she won't. Perhaps en route, she may, but's it's doubtful. The track is fast, though, so she may surprise.

Also entered in the 3000. More than likely one or two of those will be dropped.

Colin Sahlman/NAU in both 3k and 800 . . . 3ks on Friday night . . . 800s Saturday afternoon.

Robinson, Sprout, Bosley, Sahlman, Nyoak, Quax . . . their Invitational 3k race should be terrific . . .

Will they have pacers?

Unknown . . . but would be nice if UW had one of top milers helping out for a bit . . .

that 3k could be sick. Bosley still has the CR, right? I wonder if they'll get close to it. Didn't Quax just run 13:16 in a B heat? Robinson and Sprout haven't looked great recently, but now is about the time they should be rounding into form. NCAA qualification is gonna take 7:4low, so dipping under 7:40 is realistic for a field this strong.

I'm most interested in the NAU guys. Nico is probably resting since he had that knee issue. Drew hasn't raced since December, but that was a 7:43/12:29 double (and he's the CR holder). I feel like he probably isn't ready for something incredible, or else he'd have run BU. I expect ~7:45, but 10s faster wouldn't shock me. Colin announced himself as a title contender with that 3:53, and I'd love to see if he has a similar quality race here. He ran a 400 PR to start the season off, which makes me think he was doing 800/mile training during XC. Idk if I'd be so bullish on anyone else, but he had the best range of any HSer ever, so I think the CR is on the table. He could also run like 8:00 tho.

I might be most excited for Quax, though. I didn't realize it, but he ran 3:39 as a freshman. That 13:16 is easily his best time, and he might be ready to challenge 7:40 too. Him, Las Heras, Nico, Colin, and Bosley can probably all run sub-7:45 in the same race.

First of all, it's a Mile... second of all, she ran that 4:02 last race of Outdoor season, not indoors.

I see on the tentative meet schedule UW lists both mens & womens INVITATIONAL 3000m and 5000m races. Which participants will be racing in these events? Has that been published yet?

I just looked on the meet website. I don't see any heat sheets out yet.

What times do we need to see out of Stanford to see some progression and not question whether Santos is legit or not?

Any insider scoop on Aaron Sahlman? Haven't seen him since a 49.xx 400
