Was looking at entrants and thought he might be a darkhorse pick. Haven't heard anything on him of late. But don't see him entered.

didn't seem like he really took to the marathon - think he debuted boston 23?
His training on strava has looked like he's training to compete
Might be taking a backseat to his wife's triatholon career at this point
A: Sarah True
Ben True won a genuine diamond league 5000m, something very few Americans have done. Maybe as few as only him.
Hard to follow that up in a 2nd tier race like a marathon trials
Supershoe upheaval seems to have relegated him, sad to say.
Couldn't do the speedwork for track anymore, and decided he didn't want to / didn't take to the marathon. Seems to be doing some coaching up in NH.
He’s 37, has a kid, performed well on the track for a decade and a half on the national stage. He’s a big guy for the marathon. Gave it a shot at NYC 2021. Not everyone needs to telegram their retirement. He is a humble man.
Genuine is a stretch. Beet Juice Ben won in a pedestrian 13:29 by outkicking Nick Willis, of all people.
Also was 6th at World Cross and lead the Americans to a silver team medal.
That's nothing compared to YOUR Diamond League win.
He finished one second behind Bekele in NYC 2021.
I always think of this when I think of Ben True:

Willis is a genuine sub 3:30 elite. You can collect a lot worse scalps than that.

True and Lauren Fleshman are the only two Americans to win a Diamond League 5,000.

True is class and fair play to him for his solid and at times thrilling exploits on the track, but why post statements that are plainly false?

From what I remember that day in NY was brutally hot and humid
He had Lyme disease, and lots of people won’t talk about it but it’s very difficult to get your fitness back or stay healthy after Lyme and various co-infections.

Paul Chelimo won the London DL 5000 in 2018.
Mods, can we get title here changed?
Is Ben True Update?
American men regularly now run sub 13 5k and sun 27 10k but marathons stuck at 2:07. What gives?
