Lot of fast racing this weekend but felt this was pretty notable to share. Won his heat and the total event, pretty impressive performance and opener.

I think more is expected of the high school guys who were in the very top tier, and clearly Gary was, so it's nice to see him progressing in college.
Wow yeah. That’s awesome
Looks like a nice slow grind up for him with the times, this is great progress.
This is excellent progress for him. His high school best 2M is listed by IAAF as 9:02. 7:47 is equivalent to mid-8:20s 2M. He ran 3:56 for the mile last year in February and his 1500m pr is 3:39 high with a 1:47 mid 800m. So, I expect that he is going to drop a couple seconds in the mile to get a qualifier next month.
He ran 8:41.57 for the non event 3200m as a HSer, so ~8:45 low for 2 -miles.
Thanks, I thought he ran a good one at some point.
Yeah the progression is well done, he had not raced anything around the 3200 distance since that race

How hard is it to PROVIDE A GD LINK TO RESULTS FOR THREADS LIKE THIS
7:47.49 would have ranked him 23rd last year.
Not sure that it will be good enough to get an NCAA spot
Doubtful.
Is he the NJ high school mid-80s star runner Andy Martin's kid? Andy also ran for UVA.
No
I saw this race, he looked very very good. 7:47 doesn't get you much but he was all alone running faster the last 600-800. Absolutely can run in low 7:40's. maybe faster in a fast set up race.I mean as good as he was out of HS and I think he did run 3:39 at some point, you would think this is a time if right, he could have run last year.
By the way, as if anyone cared.
The PSU Track is a very good surface, I liken it to the Armory conditions wise.Only because I have seen races on it over past few years and you can run fast there, and they do not get the fields of other spots.
BU being in it's own world. Arkansas re-do is very very quick again, now too.
Seriously, what could be down voted on there..LOL
I am certain that it won't.
because people are too preoccupied with being the first to post results.
American men regularly now run sub 13 5k and sun 27 10k but marathons stuck at 2:07. What gives?
