All but Klecker/McDonald qualified in the 5000. I’d say Nuguse especially would be satisfied - an easy oly Q in his off event

Klecker looked kinda tight pre-race. He didn’t look comfortable and when the pacer gapped him and he barely responded on lap 15 it was pretty evident it was not his day. Raess waved Geordie by like 3 laps in he was not doing so hot. Mario ran at the back from the start and never really got going. Yared looked solid but when he didn’t slam it down after making his move it felt like he was vulnerable. Otherwise Beamish squeaked it out despite getting gapped (good work on him and Flanagan to fight all the way). McDonald just didn’t have the fitness despite running a perfectly solid race.
