It was almost a year ago that she set a new uk record in The Ten at 30 minutes even. Seems she was quite unlucky with injury after that. Does anyone know her racing plans? Health status? Fitness?
Gradually building mileage after a long-term injury sustained in the run up to last year's London Marathon. She is looking to compete at Paris, presumably in the 10,000m. A fast marathon will still be on her to-do list at some point as it's the one record of her mum's that she hasn't beaten yet.
She’s back running but only has been for a month or so. Lots of cross training before that. Seems like she was finally cautious and took the necessary time off to heal properly.
She’s targeting the 10k at the Olympics so a bit of a race against time for her.
I am a fan of hers - she’s a gutsy runner. But last year it was like watching a car crash in slow motion. Pulled out of the NYC half marathon with a knee injury and was immediately asking about other halfs to run. She ran Berlin on an injury meaning yet again she missed London. (And the rest of the year).
I think she’s too injury prone (and can’t get her fuelling right for long runs) for the marathon unfortunately. I do hope I’m wrong though. She has the genes for it!
The half marathon in Berlin was great but somehow I believe it caused an injury. Also for Klosterhalfen with her great performance at the half. Was maybe a bit too much?

…
She’s a very good 10k/ half marathoner though.
She ran ‘The 10’ on March 4, and the ‘NYC Half’ was March 19. Did she have an issue with the knee going into ‘The 10’?
Maybe it was after the 10k? It was a very last minute pull out from NYC what I remember. And I was surprised that in the same breath she was asking about other April half marathons to do (on Insta). At that stage it must have been a niggle.

I guess the reason I asked was wondering if she actually was possibly fitter than that 30:01 at ‘The 10’, but held back a bit with a knee ‘niggle’.
Good point. I’ll have a look back I remember she was definitely struggling with long runs as I was getting worried about London (and she’d already missed London in October). So something was brewing. Focusing on the 10k may be the best thing for her…

Had a look at her insta - yes she had bursitis on her knee going in to that 10k - if you look at the photo images of the race it’s heavily strapped. So maybe she could have gone faster!
