Maybe. They definitely would’ve been up there, but a bunch of their top guys were injured during their senior year, like their top runner: Colin Peattie.

Bro, did a guy from Bellarmine post this? I used to go there, and don’t think they’ll do that well. They have a high burnout/injury rate. There were only two seniors, and one scorer on the state squad this year because everyone else got burnt out or injured. I have some friends on the team though, so I hope they do well.

However, having two 4:45-4:50 guys as your 4 and 5 is not good enough to be competitive with the top 10 california teams.

you need to somehow find two more guys that can run 4:2x or 9:3x. or they got to improve by a lot

At CIF Ventura boys team finished lower in 2023 than they did in 2022, although they returned almost everyone.
Also, apparently someone made a thread that Sadie Engelhardt will give up her HS eligibility and race against pros. If she loses her HS XC 2024 eligibility, Ventura’s chances of making NXN are over

too many good teams, they need to improve their times by a lot to be in contention. especially #4 and #5
tesora for example has only raced once this season and their returners went - 4:19, 4:28, 4:33, 4:33, 4:34 and they are not even in the top 10 preseason rankings
What teams do you guys think will make it to the state meet from the D1 Southern Section?
I think it will be:
Great Oak, ML King, Arnold O. Beckman, Millikan, Mira Costa, Trabuco Hills, and Redondo Union.
Other teams with potential:
Crescenta Valley - lost 4 of their varsity guys, but last year they lost a lot of guys too and reloaded just fine.
San Clemente - great coaching and placed high at nationals the last 2 years. But this time they are losing almost all of their scorers. This will be a rebuilding year for them and will be young, so they should find themselves at the state meet again in 2025.
Loyola - been to the state meet many times in the past. But didn’t make it last year and lose 3 seniors.

D1 southern section lowkey is super brutal
Can the Yosemite boys team win the D5 state title? They were close the last 2 years and they return 4 scorers (Stegge, Ruiz, and two Olney brothers). They will just need a 5th runner.
Top 4 will be seniors so this is looking to be their last chance of winning the state title.

no overrated there should be 0 talk about this team. they have talent but don't do anything with it every year. they jogged in woodbridge and took another team from being able compete in it
