Obviously Nico Young’s never been seen as a 1500/miler, but the dude ran 3:37 when he was a teenager. Then he runs a 3:57 at altitude and, conversions aside, he beat a 3:38 and a 3:39 guy by six seconds. This all hints that he could be a formidable 1500-5k guy.
He’s seen as having not a lot of top end speed, but Jakob and Nordas have shown that with incredible aerobic endurance you don’t necessarily need 1:45 speed to be a great miler/5k guy. I could see Nico running a 3:29 1500m and 12:50 5k like Katir in a few years.
