Grant fisher surely has to run faster than 8:07 especially if the pacing is for 8:03. I could be wrong I mean Galen ran 8 flat pace until 800 -1000 to go.

My worry about Fisher is that he'll stay on the rail and get boxed in. He gets into trouble outdoors (when there is a loaded field). He may have more trouble on the tighter indoor track.
Hopefully his new coach has taught him how to race.

I’m sure Fisher understands the concept and doesn’t need a new coach to explain it to him. Getting boxed in, is not a concern in a time trial style race.
Last of his records...isn't he tied for the US record in # of Olympic distance medals? or # of Olympiads to have medaled at for men's distance running.
ps, not meant to take anything away from Grant or anyone else who may run faster than Galen has.

He also holds the record for fastest last mile in a 5xmile workout in a Flotrack video, but I don't think that's what OP meant by record.
