Per a friend who saw him at the Utah Olympic Oval earlier today
Since Grant announced his departure back in October, we've heard nothing from him as, apparently, he has not been interviewed or has declined interviews for the time being.
So, happy to learn anything new . . . and this post corroborates others from a couple months back placing him in Utah (rather than Flagstaff or Portland as some had speculated).
However, seeing him in Park City does not necessarily mean he's living there. May be living in SLC area and just renting a place in PC for a few weeks of high altitude work.
Morgan & the Bois @ Coffee Club/OAC mentioned in one of their podcasts a couple months back they know Grant's situation and who is coaching/advising him . . . but would only state further they wondered if he needed to get Nike's approval for this arrangement . . . implying his coach/advisor is not with Nike.
First racing opportunity would likely be the US XC Champs on January 20th . . . however, Grant didn't race a 10k last year . . . so he not only does not have the 27:00 Oly Q standard . . . he also does not have a 10k Road to Paris ranking . . . thus, Grant may need to focus just on the track . . . with Sound Running's The TEN in March possibly being the focus for his winter racing schedule . . .
Regardless, expecting all this to be clarified sometime this month in an interview with T&F News, Citius Mag or a Jonathon Gault exclusive . . .

That’s my fault for not being more specific. The Oval is in SLC but my friend had a brief conversation with Grant where he mentioned that he was living in Park City.

Thank you for clarifying . . . Grant's a pretty hardy type, tolerating all the winter snow and cold up there . . . but perfect for living high/training low . . . where low for him is driving down to SLC @ 4200' ele for track work . . .
When Grant co-hosted his Half-Step podcast a few years back, he mentioned he kept getting better after every altitude camp BTC attended . . . now that he's permanently way up there at 7000'-8000' or even higher, wouldn't be surprised to see him spend a few weeks this winter in Phoenix or at Stanford or somewhere warm to get out of the snow and get in some speedy track work.
theonepacewonder . . . wish your friend had asked Grant where and when he resumes racing . . . but as soon as Grant's name appears on an upcoming entry list, we'll all know in an instant,
Athlete born & raised at sea level to twenties decides to move to higher elevation as a grown man. Sea level athlete moves to higher elevation to produce more oxygen in the blood. Sea level athletes moving to higher elevation do not seem to grasp: Injuries are more likely for sea level athletes moving to higher elevation due to lack of oxygen. Minor aches and minor strains are more likely to turn into serious injuries at higher elevation

After the way Woody was treated in interviews that ultimately wanted to get dirt on Jerry, BTC, and Nike for clicks to their website; why would Grant, Elise, Cooper, Courtney want to interview?
Jerry and Shalane are the ones to interview or even Pascal (who was coaching at BTC) but I am sure they won’t do an interview so the athletes are the ones the running media prays upon because they get access to them at races. It pisses me off when after running a race these interviewers don’t ask in depth questions about the race, tactics, competitors and instead brush over those points to instead try and draw out other stuff that can create controversy and clicks to their websites. Sha’Carri Richardson is great at not letting interviewers twist the interview and instead says what she wants to say and then leaves the interview. She knows the interviewers just want some dirt on her smoking weed or some other thing.
Its pretty obvious that the ex BTC athletes don’t want to talk about it because their sponsorship remains with Nike. It is also obvious that they weren’t happy being at BTC and didn’t think it was the best fit for them for their future. My Mom always said “if you don’t have something good to say don’t say anything at all”

I hope it's Alberto.
Oh my god, people here are so stupid. Salazar's drug-related ban is up, but he has a lifelong ban from SafeSport that prevents him from coaching in the US. No reputable athlete who cares about what USATF thinks of them or remaining on the legal side of the rules is being coached by Alberto Salazar.

I’m pretty sure Alberto moved out of Portland after the NOP fall.
He would go to Park City often for training camps, he prob had a place there or decided to move there.
