because she is at the top of collegiate running so she gets all the fame (and NIL money) but as a pro she is middle of the pack

Valby seems well-grounded. Probably from a good family system that values education. She speaks well and as good as she is, doesn't take herself too seriously. I see her as the Tara Lipinski of the next Olympics. She will have fun.. and win hard.

Florida took 5th and I can’t even find info on the other 4 runners who scored. They are drowned out by valby. Chloe scrimgeour ran15:24 and got a 36sec PR at bu indoor, not one posts. molly born got a 62sec PR not one posts. I hate this for the NCAA fan base, all we get is valby mania. She’s amazing I get it. There’s 24 other runners and not even the fans of those 24 runners will post anything because someone will say “who cares Chloe scrimgeour lost to valby by 28 secs, let us know when she’s relevant.” Look at the college forum front page, there is only 1 true thread about college running “graham blanks....”. It’s not valby fault mind you. Just an unfortunate result on the rest of us. Cry me a river I know.

Kelati stagnated in college, runnning 15:30s. She turns pro and Look at her today, a 14:45 runner, that’s 45sec.

i view valby like that. If valby turns pro she migh be a 14:11 5k runner, 45sec off of 14:56. I prefer 14:11 to stagnating, not saying valby will but imagine the improvement under Ritz?

She has a NIL deal with NIKE, so I’m a sense she is semi-pro.

Not every good/excellent college runner wants to make it his/her profession.

She's very smart. She knows 5k is entirely at another level in international competition. If she can monetize valbymania she will, and skip going pro altogether.
