It makes alot of sense for Kipchoge. Berlin was in September. He took October off for rest and got back to training camp in November. He is already 7 weeks into his serious training phase.His peaking will concide with an early March marathon hence Tokyo is ideal.If he was to wait for London or Boston in April he would be past his peaking.The choice of Tokyo in early March also gives him enough time to rest afterwards then resume training focused on peaking at the right time for the Paris Olympics.

More likely the 5000 and the marathon. That is definitely doable. The 10000 is only two days before the marathon and even Sifan isn't crazy enough to do that. But she has indicated she is focusing on the Paris marathon. The question is will she include track races and I am guessing she will.

Yikes. I don't think even Sifan would do that! But who knows with her. I LOVE her attitude. She says running is fun and loves to challenge herself irregardless of how it turns out.
Tokyo will be interesting to follow. The calendar is perfect for this event: with the Olympics at the beginning of August, I expect a lot of strong runners to prefer Tokyo over Boston or London in 2024. The fields should be strong.
