With the guidance of TME we could see this 3:34 man maybe break 3:40 in the next few years.
27 years old already, less than a year younger than old man reed. this doesn’t move the needle
They are finally recruiting people faster than Drew Hunter.
Interesting. Wish him the best luck!!

TME seems like the perfect training group for him since hasn't been remotely close to a track PR since that 3:33.
Good for Tinman. Probably less so for Kipsang.
How is he at shipping and processing T-shirts?
I feel some of you are underplaying this - this is a horrendous move.
who’s he training with? Sam is always injured, Drew similar, Joey runs 3:59, Reed does marathons and almost everyone else left
i would love to know his rationale / how they sold him the dream here..

I like it honestly. He enters as the most talented guy in the group. Train at altitude, be more consistent. I’d be more wary of him overtraining and trying to do too much over doing the Hunter training. Uphill battle to make Kenyan team at 1,500, but if Tim Cheruiyot can’t shake injuries the 3rd spot is wide open (Keter, Taki returning, Etiang, and so on).
He's obviously very talented having run 3:33, but definetly had some mental issues when he got to races that kept him from ever placing as high as he could have. Not sure if TME is the place that would help him get to the next level, but we'll see.
Hey, want to join our group and be coached by my mom?
This is possibly the best recruit the Hunter’s have had since their high school coaching days.
We had the "NCAA 1500m recod holder" to the title as many people may not know who Eliud Kipsang is. Kipsang's pb is 3:33.74 (2022) and he was 4th at NCAA outdoors in 2021, but he failed to make the 1500 final at NCAAs in 2022 and didn't even make it out of regionals in the 1500 in 2023.
Remember the one week in 2023 where LRC stopped hating on drew hunter because he out-leaned Cooper Tears and made it to the US final? I must be the only one.
Jokes aside, I really hope this is a positive move for TME, Kipsang and Hunter. TME snags a potential talent while his stock is down, Hunter gets a training partner with at least equal or better talent, and having a sponsor + training group is better for Kipsang than no sponsor/no training group, at least I think….
It’s true that lots of ppl here just wanna see TME fail. Obviously after the recent major exodus they were gonna need to recruit to keep things going. I actually think some new blood and a guy like Kipsang could offer some good stuff to the team. We’ll see how it goes. Very easily could end up with another batch of race videos that end with a excessively long monologue about how they underperformed and will do better next time.
I wonder if there is financial motivation here. Does anyone know how much the team makes from gear? Could the gear $ plus the exposure from their social media presence help financially versus not being at the front while running for a different group?

They’re basically giving their merch away the last week, so it clearly seems like they’ve long steam/way over estimated the demand on that front so I’d expect that’s not a major factor.
Tinman. Where talent goes to die.
The talent is fringe All-American types? I guess thats my thing with it, it seems they take on guys who havent flash much more than back of a USA final (if that) talent

Im with you, outside of Drew Hunter, have they ever taken on a runner with super high expectations on them? I'm not saying top talent should ever go there, but if you are a 2nd tier college athlete and just want to give it a crack for a couple of years training at altitude then you could do worse.
I mean people meme on Sam Parsons a lot, but he wasn't close to a top tier talent out of college. He was 3:44/8:03/13:52 in college at NC State and now he is 3:36/7:39/13:12. I'd say Tinman has done a great job maxing out his potential.
