Keep in mind IUDs are incredibly painful when inserted, and can result in complications. It's not a casual thing to ask of a person, even a person you're sleeping with.

Tell her that you respect her decision and that you want to take responsibility and thus are getting a vasectomy. Pretend to get the surgery and play it up that you are sore for a few days. Honestly for a woman to refuse is annoying. I've been in long term relationships with sexual women who had them for years and not once did I hear "oh goodness my IUD is really bothering me today" they don't even feel it once it's in.

I get that it's"her choice" but it's still annoying that she's against it for some reason. Makes no sense, reminds me of the anti vaxx crowd - clear long term benefits and one crummy day immediately after getting it.
