I hope so. Seeing so many mlb team's fanbases lose their minds is hilarious.
He will be a Yankee before Christmas.

The Mets, Giants and Yankees are also interested and have got plenty of money to spend.
Ohtani is a smart and selfless player. He won't start a trend with deferred contracts because most players are too selfish and greedy to sign deferred contracts. But the Dodgers are basically cheaters by circumventing the contract regulations. Should not be allowed. Will not be allowed eventually.

Ohtani is up to $50m per year in endorsements so not that big of a sacrifice for him. Based on the value of his contract, there will still be a hit of $46M for him for luxury tax calculations.
My bet is Yosh will be a Giant or Dodger. The Giants and Dodgers cheat and have hidden bitcoins and secret investors. The Giants and Dodgers own their own stadiums. The Giants and Dodgers are private corporations. The Giansta and Dodgers aren't owned by public municipalities like the Angels, Athletics and rest of MLB. The Giants and Dodgers aren't subject to public oversight and transparency like the Angles, Athletics and rest of MLB.

Cheating? There is a specific article that addresses deferred compensation.
hell, Ken Griffey jr. retired in 2010 and he'll be getting paid $3.5 million next year. Deferments have been dished out for a long time now. People's feelings are upset because their team wasn't the one to get Ohtani and that's it.
"Three hundred dollars millions of dollars?" I'm confused as to how much that is.

Not of the teams are publicly traded so I don’t know what you‘re taking about. To aid in negotiations, players are always asking to see team cash flow statements and the owners always refuse.
There is transparency when it comes to player salaries which is what matters. Multiple teams have enough revenue to pay far more for players than they do, but the Mets have been the only team willing to ignore the luxury tax limits.
The cities with taxpayer owned stadiums control the teams. The teams can't move unless they pay off the stadium bonds and loans. The stadium commissions are local business people who work for an honorarium and oversee the operations and books of nearly every major sports team in the USA. SF and LA citizens won't underwrite nor build stadiums for billionaires. The Clippers, Lakers, Giants, Warriors, Dodgers, Rams, and Chargers own their own stadiums and have no public oversight. Hope this helps.
