What time did The Athlete Special run?
Lagat ran 3:54 at the same age.
Bekele is a few months older and just ran the first half of a marathon at that pace and didn't die
It also looks like Dathan's 14 year old son ran 5:03 as well

Bekele isn’t the full-time coach of a 3:43 miler, the reigning women’s champion of the Boston and NYC Marathons, and a bunch of other elite pros.
These is a live update tracker on web site Merrie Mile.. about 2 minutes plus into elite

He’s actually a 13 year old 7th grader. Not sure why he’s listed as 14 in the race results.
Him, Hall, and Webb need a rematch. Obviously we don’t know what hall could realistically do against the other 2 but I’m sure Webb still has the ability to crank out 68-70s

Agreed. Also, how they ignore the fact that maybe, just maybe, he hasn't been training all-out for months just to run that time...that he might have just jumped in the race for fun?
