Perhaps it has to do with “unbelievable” performances.
Faith was snubbed but not Sifan. Femke won two world championship gold medals. Sifan only won bronze and silver.
Bol will probably feel a bit awkward to win this. She'll know it should be Kipyegon, who will win the World Athletics version, the one that really matters.
But not overly surprising, given British fans. Bol is very popular there. I've seen many British track fans say if they could import any athlete to their side it would be Bol, partially because it would finally give them a relay anchor to go along with three very capable early legs.
That's a typically British thing to do.No surprises there.Personally I would have been surprised if they had actually voted for Faith Kipyegon.
