The French took *massive* damage and casualties in WWI and in WWII saved the British with heroic blocking actions in Dunkirk and North Africa. They took casualties of 35,000 dead civilians from ALLIED bombing during the Normandy invasion without complaint as they knew it was the price of liberation from Nazism. Would any of us today make such a sacrifice?

It's because French marathoners run in races such as Valencia vs Americans mostly Boston/NYC and if Chicago then usually in no men's land (alone)

All of them were born and raised in France. Pretty different from Khanouchi by the way. He started its career in Morocco and then switched to the US..

Also, the whole french team for the next euro xc on the men side is *french born* and white. Which is not the case for most US team on the past world xc ..

At the recent Half Marathon in Boulogne Billancourt, 1h10'25" got you 100th place. It s not an international race with crazy Africans at the front, it was actually won in 63min this year.
