The real rojo is not running a 3:07 Marathon anytime soon just like the real Greg will never run one.

A real question: Why do once-competitive runners stop competing? I thoroughly enjoyed competing into my 60's. Yeah, I was a mid-packer and once in a while I would win my age group. Why give up the hunt? I loved training with a track club and doing track workouts and long runs.
Biomechanics, for one. What hurt a little now and then hurts 24-7 now.
I run the official 5K now and then, and more times than not pay for weeks afterwards.

I was a track and cross country guy in high school and college and it's not nearly as well-funded/supported after graduation as it is in school. At least not where I'm at.
No scholarship limits anymore! (NCAA Track and Field inequality is going to get way worse, right?)
